Tuākana undergraduate

The Tuākana Arts undergraduate programme provides academic and pastoral support to first year Māori and Pacific students in a culturally familiar environment.

Tuākana provide workshops, monitor the due dates of coursework and work with students who may struggle to meet course deadlines. The workshops are organised and run by Tuākana mentors (experienced students) who provide pastoral and academic support to students.

Our mentors are high-achieving Arts students who share their pathways to success to help you on the road to yours. The mentors also run workshops around assignment and exam time, and you can contact them to find out when they have office hours.

You can find Tuākana Arts mentors throughout the faculty, in almost every department. You can contact them by email to make an appointment to discuss your coursework, learning or to find out what workshops you can attend to supplement your lectures and tutorials.
