Renisa Maki is studying for a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Studies and Art History.
“My father was a captain in the Merchant Navy, so I spent most of my childhood sailing around the world with my family. I suppose this interaction with various countries is what sparked my interest in Politics. Auckland has been home for the last seven years, and I love it here.
“Studying with the Faculty of Arts is fantastic – some of the lecturers feel like extended family, and the tutors are always willing to listen and help during their office hours. It’s great being surrounded by people who are passionate about the same subjects as I am.
“Ever since childhood, I have been passionate about art. Studying art through a historical perspective is truly an amazing experience. I also enjoy the feeling that you’re helping make the world a better place by studying Political Studies.”
