The MProfStuds is available in International Relations and Human Rights and Translation.
From 2013 the MProfStuds will no longer be available in Language Teaching. If you have already begun this progamme, consult the relevant Graduate Adviser for your completion requirements. For contact details see key contacts for the Department of Applied Language Studies and Linguistics.
The following alternative programmes are available in the field of language teaching. (Admission requirements apply.)
- A four-year Bachelors degree, or
- A Bachelors (Honours) degree, or
- A Bachelors degree combined with either a professional qualification equivalent to one year's advanced study or at least three years of relevant professional experience
- Any prerequisites specified for the intended subject.
Limited places for International Relations and Human Rights
For 2013 places in the MProfStuds in International Relations and Human Rights will be limited to 25 students.
Selection will be based on Grade Point Average and an undergraduate major in a suitable background discipline.
Additional requirements for Translation
Students who are not native speakers of English and who have not had at least three years of tertiary education with English as the language of instruction will be required to have achieved a minimum overall score of 7 IELTS (Academic) with no band lower than 6.5, or equivalent.
Students need to have completed the requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma in Translation Studies with a minimum average of B+, or equivalent in a qualification in a related area, as approved by the Programme Coordinator.
You will take 120 points of advanced courses in one of the subjects available for the degree. You may also be able to include a dissertation.
