Master of Literature (MLitt)

The MLitt is for students who want to complete a second masters degree. It is an opportunity to undertake research if you have completed an MA in the same or another subject and provides an alternative to the PhD.

Subjects available

You can complete your MLitt thesis in one of the subjects available in Arts or Theology. See the complete list of Faculty of Arts subjects.

Admission requirements
  • A completed Masters degree with First or Second Class Honours
  • Approval of the Head of the Department in which you wish to undertake research.

Duration

One year full-time or up to two years part-time.

Structure

You will complete a 120-point thesis, based on original research in a Faculty of Arts subject.
