Applying for a PhD

How to apply

Before you apply, find out about our departments and staff research interests.

Submit an Application of Admission (AfA).

The University requires you to complete an online Application of Admission (AfA).

The AfA gives you a clear channel for enquiring about doctoral study and determining whether you can be accepted.

If you are a student or staff member of this University, log in using your NetID and password.

If you have not previously attended The University of Auckland, you will need to first self-register. Once you have been assigned a username and password you can log into the Application for Admission (AfA).

You can find out about specific departmental requirements for the AfA on departmental websites.

Also see University information about applying for a PhD.
