Facilities and resources
The Faculty of Arts and The University of Auckland offer a wide range of services to support your studies.
We offer expert guidance throughout your studies. Our friendly and knowledgeable student advisers are currently studying and understand your perspective. You don’t need an appointment to come and see us. We provide help with:
- applying and enrolling
- planning your enrolment
- what you need to do to complete your degree
- any questions you have about the Faculty of Arts or the University.
- The Faculty of Arts has a number of Arts Labs where you can prepare and print your assignments, access online course material, use e-mail and the internet.
- The University of Auckland Library is the largest university library system in New Zealand, and ranks alongside the top five university libraries in Australia.
- The Kate Edger Information Commons has over 500 multi-purpose computers, printers, photocopies and scanners. You also have access to the Library’s electronic resources.
- Your NetAccount will give you printing and internet access.

DELNA
The DELNA programme (Diagnostic English Language Needs Assessment) is for all incoming students, whether or not English is your first language. DELNA is used to assess your level of academic English and direct you to the best sources of help.

As well as the book collection, resources include a wide range of databases and other electronic resources. The Subject Librarian for Theology can help you find the resources you need.
Catholic Diocese of Auckland Library
Offers a wide range of religious books and theological material, with strengths in works by Catholic authors. Incorporates the Eugene O'Sullivan Theological Library.

Colin Library
Attached to Good Shepherd College. The Colin Library has extensive holdings in ecclesiastical sciences and humanities, reflecting the Catholic focus of the college.
John Kinder Theological Library
Located at St John's / Trinity College in Meadowbank. The collection includes books, serials, manuscripts and microfilm. There is a special emphasis on the New Zealand Anglican and Methodist churches.
