Museums and Cultural Heritage
Museums and Cultural Heritage develops an understanding of museums and heritage practices in visual and material culture. Our emphasis is on New Zealand and the Pacific.
Tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katoa.
Museums and Cultural Heritage is an interdisciplinary programme. It draws on museums and heritage-related courses taught by the departments of Anthropology, Art History, History, Māori Studies and Sociology.
Museums and Cultural Heritage is available for postgraduate study and is co-ordinated by the Department of Art History.
Postgraduate careers
Museums and Cultural Heritage can help give you an excellent foundation for a career as a curator, education officer, art gallery registrar or manager, and for careers in museums and heritage institutions in the private and government sectors, and in tourism.
