About the Series

The Centre of Methods and Policy Application in the Social Sciences (COMPASS) Working Paper Series is intended to encourage staff, research associates and students to disseminate research findings in a timely manner and stimulate discussion on issues specific to the COMPASS work programme.

In addition to creating an avenue for staff, research associates and students to share their research, the Working Paper Series will promote the generation and use of quality research by:

  • Becoming a focal point for innovative thinking and research by facilitating the dissemination of research results from the research team which are relevant to the interests and concerns of academics, policymakers, and other interested parties
  • Heightening the Centre’s national and international profile by connecting individuals and encouraging interaction among the academic and non-academic communities both within and outside New Zealand
  • Providing an opportunity for faculty, research associates and students to receive constructive feedback on their ideas and research before submission to peer reviewed journals or other destinations
  • Enabling the work of faculty members, research associates and students to be cited by other researchers in the field.
