The Faculty of Arts hosts the humanities, social sciences, languages and theology at The University of Auckland, and is the most comprehensive and diverse arts faculty in New Zealand. We were ranked among the world's top arts faculties by the 2011 QS World University Rankings and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011-2012.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate degree and diploma programmes in both Arts and Theology, ranging over more than 50 subjects. Our leading scholars and researchers are respected both in New Zealand and overseas. The quality of our academic staff and their research is internationally acknowledged.

The Faculty of Arts is an active intellectual cultural centre within Auckland, one that contributes significantly to the role of the University as “critic and conscience” of society. Our faculty respects and nurtures a range of cultural and intellectual traditions and approaches to knowledge.
