Welcome from the Dean

I am delighted to take on my new role as Dean of the Faculty of Arts. I joined the Faculty early in 2013, having previously served as a Dean at Hunter College in New York City.

I was greatly attracted to my new home because the Faculty of Arts at The University of Auckland has such an outstanding international reputation, and is a place renowned for its excellence in research, teaching and learning. We are the leading arts faculty in New Zealand.

Come join us and work with our diverse academic staff, whose research spans disciplines within the humanities, social sciences, languages and cultures. We offer our students an exciting array of study opportunities which foster critical thinking, effective writing skills, global awareness and creative problem-solving.
