Eighth Annual Graduate Conference: Call for Papers
Graduate students from New Zealand universities working on Asian-related research topics are warmly invited to join the School of Asian Studies at the University of Auckland in this annual celebration of graduate student work. The conference is a great opportunity for you to experience the research environment at Auckland and to present your dissertation or similar research in a professional and friendly environment. Papers will be organised into theme-related panels, chaired by academic staff members from the School of Asian Studies, who will also serve as discussants.
Please send your presentation title, an abstract of no more than 250 words, a signed memo from your supervisor declaring that they have approved your abstract, brief details of your academic background (degrees earned and institutions etc.), and confirmation of your name as you wish it to appear in the programme via email attachment to asianstudies@auckland.ac.nz (with the words “Graduate Conference” in the subject line).
The School of Asian Studies is hoping to obtain funding towards some of the travel costs of students from outside Auckland, but potential participants should not plan their attendance based upon receiving such support.
Deadline for Submission of Abstracts: Thursday 15 September 2011
