Mike Riddell

Mike Riddell was a Baptist Minister who became a Catholic layman in 1997. His background is in social justice and community development. He has taught Practical Theology at both The University of Auckland and Otago University. He gained a ThM from Rueschlikon International Baptist Seminary in Zurich with a thesis on Process Theology, and graduated from Otago University with a PhD examining the work of New Zealand poet James K. Baxter. He has 10 published books to his name, including three novels. He wrote the play Jerusalem, Jerusalem which toured New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Recently he adapted his own novel The Insatiable Moon into a feature film released both in New Zealand and overseas.

Mike has featured as a speaker, lecturer and storyteller in many places throughout the world. He currently works as a writer and producer of feature films. He is married to Rosemary, a District Court Judge and film director.
