Faculty of Arts - Department of History

International ties

Our department, staff and students have developed relationships with historians and universities around the world. Our international ties enhance our teaching, learning and research in a globally connected world.

Our strongest international institutional connections are with partners in Universitas 21 and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, particularly Peking University, Fudan University in Shanghai, and the University of Washington in Seattle. We have established a teaching exchange with the Department of History at the University of Washington and are exploring a similar exchange with Fudan University.

Our curriculum for both undergraduate study and graduate study is international, as is our research. We encourage our New Zealand students to study abroad as well as regularly host international scholars here in New Zealand.
