The Film Production Group was founded in 2006 by undergraduate students from The University of Auckland who wanted to create a space for students to come together and produce films.
Driven solely by a passion for filmmaking, the Film Production Group has evolved into a filmmaking community where students from all fields of study share filmmaking knowledge and utilise the resources the Film Production Group provides to make their own films.
The Film Production Group is developing relationships with the New Zealand film industry. At past meetings, professionals from the industry - from well-known directors to technical experts - have spoken to the group.
Most importantly, the Film Production Group is about giving students who might not otherwise have the chance the opportunity to make films. Students are eager to produce films, the group has even made or participated in the making of several feature films.
Membership is only open to students but is not linked to any particular course. For more information please contact the department.
