Research
The Centre's research culture encompasses a wide geographic spread from Asia and the Pacific to the Americas and Africa.
Our research deals with gender, micro-finance, markets, information and communication technologies, political ecology, cultural and institutional economics and market-based approaches to development as well as population, health, food and migration issues.
The Centre also has ongoing and personal research links with the University of Papua New Guinea, the University of the South Pacific (Fiji), the University of California at Irvine, Saga University (Japan), National University Hanoi (Vietnam), the University of Western Australia, and Universiteti Riinvest (Kosovo).

This research update reports on the recent work carried out by staff and students at the Centre for Development Studies, in collaboration with colleagues in NICAI and Political Studies, in Port Moresby in early 2011. The research included a number of workshops on gender policies as well as field research by MA students.
