The Department of Anthropology is internationally renowned for innovative research in the Pacific. As well as Australia and New Zealand, we have projects in:

- Solomon Islands
- Papua New Guinea.
Research topics range from prehistory to material culture, art to religion, fashion, gender, intellectual property, music, health, ecology, osteology and genetics.
Our research also extends worldwide, including work in Europe, India, Taiwan, China and the Middle East. Topics include: political anthropology, primate and human ecology, human growth, traditional and popular music and archaeological projects.
