Certificate in Arts

The Certificate in Arts (CertArts) is a short programme that allows you to choose from the whole range of BA subjects. The CertArts is not available to school leavers or international students.

The CertArts is not a university preparation programme, but is a good way to try university study.

If you complete the Certificate and don't want to study further, you will still be awarded a formal qualification from The University of Auckland. If you decide you want to continue with university study, you can use the courses you have passed towards the Bachelor of Arts or another degree which is offered at the University.

Duration

You can complete the CertArts in one semester of full-time study. There is an option of studying part-time and take as long as you need to complete the programme.

Required course of study

You will choose either one or two BA subjects.

Within these subjects, you will take four BA courses (a total of 60 points).

These courses can all be at Stage I, or a combination of Stages I and II. (To enrol in a Stage II course, you generally need to have first passed two Stage I courses in that subject.)
