Centre for Archaeological Research
The Centre for Archaeological Research provides archaeological services which benefit from the latest technology and wide-ranging experience.
We provide various advanced technical services, ranging from a fully-equipped conservation laboratory through to trace element analysis using the PIXE-PIGME and XRF systems. These services extend to all areas of archaeological research, with facilities such as GPS surveying units, computerised mapping and a comprehensive GIS laboratory.
Dating facilities are also available, with the Obsidian Hydration Dating Laboratory investigating how this technique can be tailored for use in New Zealand.
