Applying for a postgraduate programme
Your application process depends on whether or not you have previously been enrolled at The University of Auckland.
If you have previously been enrolled at The University of Auckland
Apply to change your programme on Student Services Online.
Your next step is to enrol in individual courses. You can enrol as soon as you have applied. However, your enrolment can only be finalised when the application process is complete and you have been admitted to the programme. Find out how to enrol in individual courses.
If you are new to The University of Auckland
Apply on Student Services Online.
You will be sent an acknowledgment email with further instructions to complete your application.
Your next step is to enrol in individual courses. You can enrol as soon as you have applied. However, your enrolment can only be finalised when the application process is complete and you have been admitted to the programme. Find out how to enrol in individual courses.
If you are continuing in the same programme in 2012
You do not need to apply again. You can proceed directly to enrol in individual courses.

Late applications
- Applications for Semester One submitted after 8 December will only be considered if places are available.
- Applications for Semester Two submitted after 4 July will only be considered if places are available.

You are an international student if you are not a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia.
How to apply
International students complete the same application processes as all other students (see above). If you cannot apply online, or if you have any questions about your application, contact the International Office.

English language requirements
If your first language is not English you must provide satisfactory evidence of English proficiency. This will be based on an IELTS or TOEFL score. The minimum requirements are as follows - some programmes require higher scores.
Academic IELTS
6.5 with no band less than 6.0.
TOEFL
Paper-based: 575 with a TWE of no less than 4.5.
TOEFL iBT: an overall score of 90 with a written score of at least 21.
