General

Raymond Miller is a graduate of McMaster University (Canada) and the University of Auckland. His main research and teaching interests are in the fields of New Zealand and comparative politics, and in 2008 he will be teaching undergraduate courses in New Zealand Politics (POLITICS 107) and New Zealand Parties and Elections (POLITICS 232), together with a graduate course in New Zealand Government (POLITICS 756).

Raymond is the editor of New Zealand Politics in Transition (1997) and New Zealand Government and Politics (2001, 2003), both of which were published by Oxford University Press. He has collaborated on a number of election studies published by Auckland Univeristy Press (AUP), including Proportional Representation on Trial (2002) and Voters' Veto (2004). His most recent book publications are Party Politics in New Zealand (Oxford, 2005), Political Leadership in New Zealand (AUP, 2006), and a fully revised edition of New Zealand Government and Politics (Oxford, 2006). Projects 
being undertaken in 2008 include a co-authored book on the decline and renewal of democratic governance and a survey on attitudes to political representation and the role of MPs.
