Research

The Faculty of Arts comprises a diverse group of scholars whose reseach excellence is acknowledged both internationally and within New Zealand.

We were ranked number 39 for arts and humanities and number 30 for social sciences by the 2008 Times Higher Education Supplement World University Rankings. The most recent PBRF exercise awarded us the highest number of A-rated researchers overall in New Zealand (2006-7 Performance Based Research Fund evaluation, New Zealand Tertiary Education Commission).
