Dr Vanessa Enriquez Raido

PhD in Education (Translation Pedagogy), MA in Translation and Intercultural Studies, Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Digital Text Processing, BA in Translation Studies and Interpreting (Spanish, English & German).


After completing her four-year BA in Translation and Interpreting Studies (Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, Madrid), Vanessa obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Translation and Computer-based Text Processing from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), her Master's degree in Translation and Intercultural Studies from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona) and her PhD in Translation Education from the Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona). Her research expertise lies in the fields of (i) translator education, (ii) translation-oriented web searching, (iii) translation technologies and (iv) translation process research. Vanessa has made significant contributions to these knowledge areas in the form of numerous publications, conference presentations and invited lectures in renowned translations programs worldwide. She has recently developed a strong interest in language assistance services across the New Zealand public sector and in community settings.

She has served as Review Editor for The Interpreter and Translator Trainer and frequently acts as referee for this and other scholarly journals such as:
