Welcome to the Italian at a Distance Beginners' course.
As you already know, this course is delivered at a distance via CD ROMs, the internet, and material for the orals and homework you can download from this site.
Before we start our 'lessons' read through the course's web page and familiarize yourself with its content. Explore the chat room and links to other resources. Play around with it and make yourself comfortable with the computer and familiar with the structure of the course. The course's home page will be our point of reference, especially so the Discussion Forum where you can post your message asking questions, offering comments or even answering other students' queries about the Italian language, culture or simply about the course and its structure. To all those who are new to the internet I would strongly recommend you start the course by reading the 'Web Skills for Language Learners booklet'. The link to this 'booklet' is available on the links page.
