Thinking about your career?

Our third-year internship course gives you the chance to gain work experience through undertaking a project in a real-world workplace. The course is career-oriented, and you will have the opportunity to develop and showcase a variety of transferable skills of value to the market place: critical thinking, analysis and writing, teamwork, communication and social media, data collection, translation and archival documentation.

Our students have undertaken projects with:

  • Intelligent Ink
  • Teach First NZ
  • SpringboardTrust
  • YWCA
  • TEAR Fund
  • Artists Alliance
  • Transparency International
  • The Creative Thinking Project

What do students think of the course?

"The internship course as helped me to think about the transferrable skills which are developed through Arts study. One large component of this is applying our research and communication skills to solving real world problems."

“I had an opportunity to learn from marketing professionals, and was able to produce an effective end result despite my lack of prior experience. The project indicated the wide variety of work that can be done with the skills gained through a Bachelor of Arts."

"My BA subjects have given me experience in research, writing, presentation and critical thinking. These were immediately transferrable to my project."
