We expect a high standard of academic English from all our students. Academic English Studies can help you develop your skills so that you can succeed with University study. Our small and friendly classes will also help to increase your confidence.

Academic English Studies was previously called English as a Second Language (ESOL).

Study options in Academic English Studies

Courses in Academic English Studies are available at undergraduate level, and are taught by the Applied Language Studies and Linguistics in the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics.

These courses are only available to students who speak English as an additional language. Other students may be interested in English Writing.
