Undergraduate study in Academic English Studies and Linguistics

You will take Stage II courses in Academic English Studies (ACADENG) that are designed for students who speak English as an additional language.

If your English language skills are not advanced enough for Stage II ACADENG courses, you will need to take Stage I ACADENG courses before you begin this subject.

You will combine your study of academic English with the study of language structure (sounds, words, sentences and meaning). You will also study aspects of the theory of language teaching and learning.

You can take a major in Academic English Studies and Linguistics as one of your two BA majors (a double major). You will need to pass at least 120 points (eight courses) towards each of your majors, including at least 45 points (three courses) at Stage III.
