About French

The University of Auckland offers New Zealand’s most extensive programme in French.

Study opportunities in French

Our undergraduate and graduate teaching programme includes French language acquisition (beginners to advanced), French culture and history, and the literature of France and the French-speaking world. Many courses are taught in French.

We encourage students to pursue opportunities to participate in the living language. These include cultural activities on campus, study abroad, exchanges and teaching assistantships with French-speaking universities in France, Canada and the French-speaking South Pacific.
