Applied Linguistics

Applied Linguistics draws on a variety of disciplines to formulate solutions to real world language problems. Applied Linguistics is available for the Master of Arts (MA).

We offer a comprehensive programme in Linguistics, from the Bachelor of Arts through to PhD. Our teaching and research cover the major aspects of linguistics theory. We study linguistics in English and other Germanic languages, Russian, Chinese, and the languages of Indonesia, Melanesia and Polynesia.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

TESOL is available as a BA major and minor. We also offer a specialist postgraduate degree, the Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MTESOL).
