"I can't get enough of my conjoint degree. It has provided me with knowledge in many different areas, from epidemiology and Māori health to Asian diasporas and formal logic. I even got to dissect a rat!

"At the same time, I've also been able to focus on my specific interests in health systems, and Chinese and Japanese cultures — the best of both worlds!

"I initially thought Asian Studies would just be about history but throughout these years, I've learnt that studies relating to this field are much broader and sophisticated than that. I have received a well-rounded view of history, cultures, literatures, politics, identities and more in Asia.

"There's definitely more to Asia than meets the eye.

"The highlight of my time in university has to be the six months I spent abroad at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Not only was I able to easily fulfil my conjoint degree requirements, but I also gained a refreshing insight into Asia from an American perspective.

"I'm from Singapore, but Auckland has been home for most of my life. The University of Auckland has a great reputation nationally and internationally, so choosing to study here really was a no-brainer."
