Mary O'Connor

“I recently completed a summer internship with Auckland Council. My role as a Consultation and Engagement intern involved a lot of research, drafting and referencing. I used the written and verbal skills developed through my Arts degree on a daily basis in this position.

“Working on large scale issues and projects that affect all Aucklanders was an amazing opportunity. My internship has opened up a pathway to work in the public sector where all the elements of my Arts degree can be applied to real world issues.

“The Faculty of Arts is ranked in the world’s top 40 for humanities and social sciences. Having access to exceptional teachers and staff helped me strive for excellence while also gaining a world class education. I would like to combine my career with world travel, so I chose the University of Auckland because its international recognition will aid my job prospects once I finish.”
