“I knew by choosing to study at the University of Auckland that I would be receiving the best possible education. Auckland has a great reputation and is well recognized worldwide. I was confident that a degree from Auckland would give me a definite head start in the job market.

“Being a student in the Faculty of Arts is great! There is plenty of support available and students are given a lot of opportunities for experiences outside the University. Since I started I have been lucky enough to visit the TVNZ studio, the SKY Broadcast van at a Warriors game and also start an internship with the SKYCITY Breakers.

“The skills students learn in the Faculty of Arts go way beyond their chosen subject. Research skills, writing skills, time management and experience with group work are all invaluable assets when heading out into the real world.

“At times studying at University can be a challenge and you can feel overwhelmed. My advice to new students is to make use of all the support networks available. Don’t be afraid to chat to your lecturer or tutor if you have any problems.”
