“I moved from to Auckland from Tonga in 2006, and the University of Auckland has always been my first choice for my BA/LLB.

“It’s been great being a student in the Faculty of Arts. I have thoroughly enjoyed the subjects that I am studying and their practical relevance in my life. I enjoy the analytical nature of my BA studies and the encouragement I receive to think freely and outside the box. I especially enjoy how Arts study engages critical thinking within everyday life.

“The student lifestyle in Auckland is busy and diverse. What’s so awesome about Auckland is that you never get bored! There’s always something to do and opportunities to immerse yourself. Another great aspect about Auckland is that there are multiple cultural groups, programmes and awareness groups which promote the diverse nature of Auckland. The Faculty of Arts reflects this in its Tuākana mentor programme, which is especially designed for Māori and Pacific students.”
