“By choosing a double major in my BA, I’ve tried my best to make my degree pathway reflective of me as an individual and the variety of topics I’m interested in studying.

“The English Department has been great and the staff always have time for you. Both the lecturers and the tutors are clearly passionate about their specific subject areas and that is passed on to the students.

“There is also a wide range of courses on offer, from Shakespeare to online poetry, which allows for a deep exploration of different aspects of English - from traditional literary criticism to publishing work on the web.

“European Studies attracted me because I couldn't pick from the massive range of subjects which one I wanted to specialise in, so I chose a major which allowed me to engage in interdisciplinary study.

“I've immensely enjoyed the range of courses on offer in the major - I've taken courses in Classical Studies, Philosophy, Political Studies and History. I’ve been able to gain hugely different perspectives on Europe's rich cultural diversity and still be taught by experts in their respective fields.”
