Applications open: Woods Philosophy Teachers Scholarships

These Scholarships were established in 2017 and are funded by the estate of Frederick Woods. The main purpose of the Scholarships is to encourage secondary school teachers to develop the “community of inquiry” approach in their current classroom practice.

Up to three scholarships will be awarded annually each for a period of up to one year, and will be of the value of up to $3,000 each.

To take up and be paid the scholarships, the candidates must be employed as a secondary school teacher, and must be enrolled in either a Master of Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Education or a Certificate of Proficiency and have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees for enrolment in PHIL 701 Philosophy for Children – Theory and Practice at the University of Auckland.
