Palazzo Italia - Cartesio Studio Award

We are delighted to announce that Palazzo Italia - Cartesio Studio is generously offering an award of NZ$2,500 to be awarded to one student per year at the University of Auckland.

The Palazzo Italia - Cartesio Studio Award is meant to support the development of the Italian language as a business and innovation opportunity, to provide an occasion for cultural immersion and first-hand experience of the language and business culture of Italy, and to encourage students to pursue a period of internship in Italy.

The 2018 Palazzo Italia - Cartesio Studio Award

The 2018 award aims to support a student at the University of Auckland to undertake a period of internship (minimum of four weeks) in Italy, in an organisation or company partner with Palazzo Italia - Cartesio Studio.

How to apply

To be considered for this award in 2018, you should email a copy of your CV, transcript and a letter of intent of around 300 words explaining how you would take advantage of this award to Joe Barnes at by 20 June 2018.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in late June or early July. A decision will be made by 10 July 2018.

Selection will be based on academic merit, the quality and relevance of the proposal submitted with the application, and an interview with members of the selection committee. Preference may be given to candidates with advanced knowledge of Italian.

Following the internship abroad period, the recipient of the award must produce proof from the host organisation or company of completion of the internship to a satisfactory standard and submit a written report to the selection committee.

Students may obtain University credit for the internship experience if they are also eligible to enrol in ITALIAN 379. A pass in ITALIAN 300 (Advanced Italian Language) and permission from the Italian are pre-requisites to enrol in ITALIAN 379, which also requires the completion of a research project during the internship time.
